Fran has been in the fitness industry for over 25 years. As a teacher in the 80's, she coached a high school women's track team and taught Adult Education fitness classes. A Licensed Physical Therapist since 1994, Fran specializes in orthopedic and sport rehabilitation.
Fran has served on the Board of Managers at the Santa Barbara YMCA since 2002. As a Board volunteer, she designed, developed and continues to train instructors for the successful indoor cycling program at the Y. Fran's professional degrees include a Masters in Physical Therapy and Biokinesiology from USC, and a Bachelors in pre-med Biology from Caltech. Her cycling certifications include YMCA, Schwinn Cycling, and Spinning, she is certified to teach Nordic Walking through Exel Sports, and she has been certified in Personal Training through ACSM and IWA.
Fran enjoys many sports and activities. She is a member of the Santa Barbara Athletic Association, where she has a featured blog. Be sure to check out her section "About me". She cross trains by Nordic Walking, trail running with her husband and dogs, swimming, and playing with her training tools.
